My BT connection was fine all last night, never had any problems the 5 years I have been with BT.  I think they have some kind of local update recorded message if you ring their broadband help line....

They are the biggest bunch of cowboys going, getting binned by me today as I am fed up with re-booting the router to get the connection back up.

And I know I will get a load of grief on the phone when I ask for a MAC code!

Plusnet are sods for that, they insist you ring them so they can convince you not to, then they ring you regularly up until when the mac is issued :(

VM are just a mare on anything (since the NTL merger), bet you'll be glad rto see the back of them

you are lucky with reliable internet....mine on Virgin frequently crashes and modem needs resetting. Don't really want to change companies as i have used them since i first got the internet, years ago.
Also dont want to have to pay line rental, happy with my deal with VM for TV, net and phone
