Are they as fast or faster as say the Vectra V6 ? same engine i know !

Theres a poorly one for cheap that a boy racer is selling seems to have the Usual V6 dodgy cranksensor but ive been offered it for £150 its T&T till december

i think its fairly up the calibra range has tan leather and airbag etc looks like a chavalier inside is that what theyre based on?

Slightly lighter than a vectra.......150 quid is VERY cheap.

Thought the one to have was the turbo version.

Either way, £150 has got to be a bargain, even if just for parts.

Trouble with the turbo versions is they have a habit of blowing their transfer boxes.

its an SE8 P Reg been and seen it but need some advice i think the cambelts gone on it!

it turns over faster than my old V6 vauxhalls and doesnt sound rite when turning over i did try having a look at the belt but all the usual stuff is in the way i mite put him in touch with Dave Marshall if the belt has gone

he said that it just cut out at a junction and went to start but wouldnt fire and now all it does is turn over making no attempt to fire up

Like all transfer boxes, they are good if cared for.

Change the accumulator every 60K miles, keep all the tyres to within 2mm of each other and change the fluid regularly (shared with the PAS) and they are fine!

I've got one, much more responsive than my Omega V6 as you'd expect but obviously less refined.  Interior is essentially Cavalier as are many parts so its pretty much a winning combination - the V6 lump with the very reliable Cav body.  On a recent run up to the lakes I got 55mpg out of it!  Around town & 'fun' driving never drops below 35mpg.

I have to say I love it, although mine is a good one - low mileage which hasn't been Chav'd!

But it has to be worth £150 of anyones money.  Standard running V6's of 80-100k mileage go for £1000+, if its tidy (especially interior, seat bolsters, wheel arches, door bottoms etc) then add another £500 to that.  I've seen them advertised for over £2k.

...and that's the problem, how many are left that have been cared for?

I keep looking at Calibra's thinking I would love one again but then I look at diesel saloons thinking i'd be far better off getting one of those with the current fuel prices!
