And thanks to MaxV6's lad for doing a top job on the throttle and breather cleaning plus bringing the tea out....

I know he probably won't see this, but I should really thank my immediate neighbour who I share the drive with.  He didn't mind us spread all over his drive, antifreeze flowing down it (mind you, he must be used to that by now ;)), and provided significant additional parking later in the day.  And he said for the next one I host (!) just let him know so he can do the same again...

Well done to everybody who were working in the background, all that tea kept coming out and Max and co spent god knows how many hours on that BBQ :y

Poor old Max, after all that work done to his car, finally got away very late, twenty minutes later he returned as it had started raining, turned on the wipers to find they were missing ::), had to come back to get them. :o Sorry Max but we did have to laugh when Jaime told us ;D

Jaime, with regard to the neighbours from paradise, Might I suggest a nice bottle of something as a thank you??

In our old house, when we hosted the Large (100-200 guests)  audio industry summer BBQ's, we used to give each of the neighbours a bottle or two of decent wine as a thank you......  even though they were invited, given that we tended to party till 4 am , it seemed like the decent thing to do....

given the volunteered  use of the rugger club car park as well as drive way etc, i reckon they deserve it.

If you like I would'nt mind going round and thanking your next door neighbours wife personally on behalf of the OOF ;) ;D.

I would like to thank everyone involved yesterday for making it not only a productive day but a good laugh as well and lets hope the next meet is quite soon.

Cheers Fellas :y

Oh.... and the memory issue is resolved...

according to the schedule, that AMAZING cake (someone post a picture, Mine's too shaky) was delivered by Mambafia (andy?)

Damn but it was a brilliant move.... a specialised , personalised,  "Happy Cambelt party" cake from Asda....

Top marks for initiative and humour.

Thanks Max, I was impressed at how well it came out - I think everyone was far too stuffed to eat cake after all the meat - nice one on the bbq!
Can I also thoroughly thank everyone who worked on my car and did an absolutely grand job, it's running really well and I'm sure it will be even better once I've done the breathers which now I have the confidence to do after seeing so much hot Omega engine action over the course of the day  ;D
Really wish I could have stayed longer but had to work on the Sunday and I live 2 hours away. But to everyone, thanks again, was a really good day.

I'd also like to add a few thanks.

TheBoy for letting us use his place.
mikedundee & nixoro for going out of their way to get a spare alloy to me.
MaxV6 et al for sustenance.
& last but certainly not least to sounds2k for all the work you did on my car, I can’t thank you enough, top bloke, cheers  :y :y

Apologies if I've forgot anyone.

Max's coolant leak..  I'm going up when we can agree a time.. to look at the stat and coolant transfer pipe.. hopefully we will have a happy ending on that one..

Make sure you have a new stat, and stat bridge pipe plus bridge pipe to rad hose...plus associated seals....if its the latest design of stat it needs slightly longer bolts and the stat bolts need sealent as they go into a water jacket...

I have a feeling that either the hose is buggered or, more likely, the bridge pipe is buggered....(these are about 8 quid new with seals).........I suspect this following a little snippit I picked up from Max when we fired it up last thing at night ' the heads were changed around 60K miles'...its easy to damage when removing it and then its just a matter of time......

Yes, despite what the local tourist information had told me, the Crown Hotel in Brackley would appear to be a sh!thole.  Personally, every time I've been in there, I've never made it past the first door on the left ::)
I certainly wouldn't recommend it. My room was OK apart from only having one light (a bedside lamp) but the bathroom was minging  :(
& as for the first door on the left; steer clear of the draught lager  [smiley=thumbdown.gif]
