Fire!
« on: 16 September 2009, 22:21:19 »

Walked the dogs tonight at a local park.

Lots of Little teenage darlings, sat in the play area, drinking their lager - basically someone had been setting fire to everything  >:( including wooden equipment. Personally not sure how they stood the smoke!

I called it in - needless to say, there were some blue lights pretty quick - unfortunately a bit too late though, the damage had already been done.  :-[

not too bad when i think what i used to get up to at that age, me BMX didnt always keep me quiet.

Our swings etc where made of telegraph polls old tyres and chains. Hard to smash that up.

Dont tell me it was much differant when you all where that age. You may have been better or worse behaved but the situation was the same, desperate to get out of the hourse, too young for the pub, and no parents would have other kids round, and nor would you want to anyway.

Might have left them alone. Not wrecking personal property then.

Actually, yes it was.

We would push the boundaries, have some beers, and be rowdy - but never commit bloody arson, ffs!

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one, mate.

That kind of behaviour needs stamping out.

I'm not a killjoy, and will turn a blind eye to many things within reason -  but there are boundaries...

Agree wholeheartedly with James. :y

Arson, theft, malicious damage, I don't care what it is, it is not acceptable and the fact that oldies may have done it before when they were young does not make it anymore acceptable in my book. It's criminal and it's wrong.

I maintain my view - but, having re-read it, apologies it's a little tongue in cheek  :y

Was not really refering to what did or didnt happen. More of the "possibly" hypocritical attitude to the situation(which i didnt witness) by people(who i dont know personally or their history as kids) on here that take a such a dim view of a situation that they "possibly" may have been in themselves to a varying degree.

Alot of assumptions in my statement that may well be unfair. My apologies. But a little understanding of the opposite view goes a long way, esp if you have been there yourself, we where all young once is my point.

I was not at all implying that they should get away with it. Despite my tongue in cheek comment at the end. :-)
