Well, don't want to put a damper on everything, but with Iran soon to be mass marketing nuke weponary, and other others to, and with the same countries and other countries hating the USA + UK, don't think we need to worry what'll happen for the next x4 years when the new government gets in ?.  Plus with mother-nature reclaiming her earth, I reckon that the planet will last another couple of years at a push.

Question really should be................................... !

Funny how you can never find anyone who voted the last government in!

I seem to remember exactly the same thing when Maggie was in so long.

Smegmatt1 - spot on. Won't be long before we are all in a proper war (not counting Iraq, Afghanistan, the war on terror etc). Best thing to take peoples' minds off recession and bad times. Lets hope we make a better fist of it this time and actually have an exit strategy.

There are now clear signs that the rats are starting to run from the sinking Labour Government ship whilst recognising the hopelessness of their cause.

Yesterday John Prescott was quoted talking about Labour's "defeatism" and lack of drive at the top of the Party, today we have Alistair Darling coming out and saying that
Labour must come out fighting and doing more to regain lost voters after Charles Clarke openly warned of a "hammering at the polls", calling for Brown to step down. Lord Mandelson is being quoted this morning as stating he would work for the Tories (heaven forbid!!)

Along with many "other Labour MPs" reportedly talking of a massive defeat at the General Election, it appears to me the MP's of Labour are planning their politcal alignments for after the inevitable, and starting to jump from the sinking ship!

I believe that David Cameron and his excellent team will become the next government. ::) ::)
Not since 1979.......with the wonderful Mrs T.........have we had such an accomplished team ::) ::)
From 1979-1997.......Mrs Thatcher ..........followed by the superb John Major .....turned Britain from the "sick man of Europe"..........into a Utopian society........for everybody......both rich and poor ::) ::)

If memory serves .........in the eighties .....Mrs Thatcher......almost single -handedly......eradicated...........poverty........unemployment.........sickness......and THE worst disease of all time........SOCIALISM.....(I can  barely bring myself to say such a word) ::)
It is a disgrace that the ungrateful British people....elected a Labour government in 1997......Shame on them ::)
In summary Lizzie..........like a cathartic experience...........I have seen the light ::) ::) ::).....and so shall be voting CONSERVATIVE.......at the next general election. ::) :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

I am sad to say that my parents are staunch socialists and at 18 I went along with thinking Labour were good, with yes voting for both Wilson and Gallagham!! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

The winter of discontent after a series of terrible Labour blunders and governmental mis-management ensured I followed my brain and common sense to vote Conservative in 1979 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I rather hoped you were being... :y otherwise I was gong to ask you if you were around in the 80?'s  Remember the interests rates in 1985 :o :o :o and that grab what you can, to hell with anyone else attitude, and then there were the yuppies :-X Think the serving Police officers in 1984 loved her though, they all bought nice houses on the back of the miner' strike, that would be the strike to keep the mines open that the government were not going to close, bet they wish they were still up and running.
 I don't really do politics and  do not like GB, I did not vote for him, so what options are there? everyone seems to blame the government for the recession, but was it not bankers and would they not generally be conservatives of the to hell with anyone else brigade >:(
