If Carlsberg did football hospitality.......
« on: 28 September 2009, 17:08:29 »

Well, they do! :y
One of my best mates is the landlord of my local pub and he got a couple of Carlsberg hospitality invitaions to the Spurs game on Saturday and offered to take me. What a great day - superb hospitality suite, excellent food and a free bar for the whole day and top seats in a private section of the ground. By the time we left at around 6.30pm we were well and truly pie and mashed!! ::) ;D
Now I REALLY know what the Carlsberg ads are all about. :y

That's the way to enjoy an afternoon, shame to spoil it by putting a football match on at the same time though  ;D ;D

Free bar? Did they know you were coming? They'll have to sell Defoe to pay for it now. ;D

Nah, I'm just a novice compared with my mate - he's around 6' 5" and 19 stone with a capacity to fill every inch of it with beer!! They might have to sell more than just Defoe!! ::) ;D

My mate managed to wrangle 3 hospitality tickets to see Man U v Spurs at Old Trafford a couple of years back.

Day didn't start too well, coming up from Watford my mate got nicked doing 94 on the A50 (Luckily he was driving his mums Peugeot 306, god knows what speed he would have been doing in his 328 BMW).

Then there was some bloke threatening to jump from a bridge over the M6, he managed to shut it for over an hour. Ended up missing all but 3 minutes of the first half. Went straight to the free bar, had a few jars, went out to our padded seats, watched about 10 minutes of the game, then realised we could watch the game on the TVs in the bar whilst having a few more drinks.

Ended up stumbling out at full time and straight to Manchester City Centre for more drink.

It wasn't till we woke up in a B&B (not the one we booked) that my mate realised we had no idea where we were and if the car park we'd left his mums car in Trafford Park would even be open. Ooops!!!!

What a bloody great day though, I was only used to freezing in the stands at Vicarage Road (Watford).

Only footy game I've ever been to was at wembley with corporate hospitality....

turn up
slap up meal and beer in private area.
off to our posh seated bit for the match, avoiding crowds
back to bar area for more ale till the great unwashed had dispersed  ;D

match was euro96 Englad v Poland match, bored me silly, not a football fan, but the experience was good.

 ;D ;D ;D Excellent!!
We ended up in the pub as soon as we got back but didn't last very long - just had no capacity left for any more beer. Ended up home and in bed by around 10pm and woke up in the morning with only vague recollection of the game!! ::) ;D

The morning after, feeling like poo, I rubbed my stricken face and smelt the unmistakeable smell of chinese food on my fingers. Asked my mates 'did we have a chinese last night'. Niether of them could remember.

It wasn't till my mate rang his girlfriend later that morning that we found out he had rang her at 2am confessing his undying love and telling her we was in the best chinese in the world!!!!!

What a bloody brilliant day and night (well I think it was ;D ;D ;D)
