.....are the thieves trying to feather their own nests with the profits from this venture? 

Was it a sophisticated crime, well researched, or were they operating on a wing and a prayer?

Perhaps these important questions can only be answered by C8 - also known as the Sweeney or the Flying Squad ::) ::)
