Completed the head change today.

All running very nicely, just a vac leak to sort tomorrow (the brake servo hose has worn through)

Bushes done this morning, no real problems.

Coolant passages were all fine.

But, it threw the bloody cambelt. All was set correctly, all torqued up correctly(witnessed by Jimbob as the spanner etc) but, the tensioner released its tension (contitech - SKF).

So, its heads off and another re-build!

Was it a new cambelt kit?

No....second hand James.....i sold it to mr dtm.....carnt understand why it failed  :o....it had only done 39,999.9 miles  ::)

Sorry James...couldnt resist.....dont think mr dtm would mess about with anything 2nd hand to do with the cambelt on someone elses omega or even his own.  :)

When Mr DTM replaced my HGs on the MV6 18 months or so ago, we decided to reuse the existing cambelt/tensioners.  In fact, only changed the cambelt a fortnight ago ;D
