personally i thought the excellent Bonnie Greer was superb, Jack Straw seemed a bit out of it, Baroness Warsi was impressive, Chris Huhne made a few good points and Nick Griffin came across as evasive, odious and ludicrous

It may surprise you to know BJ that  Bonnie Greer was only there because Richard Littlejohn turned it down so they got her instead.He said it was pointless appearing on the panel with this bloke because even by the standards of politicians,trying to get a straight answer out of him is like trying to nail jelly to the ceiling,and he lies through his teeth.
Personally I thought she was a bit of a waste of time,and watching Jack Straw trying to get stuck in was like watching someone getting savaged by a dead sheep.
Griffen didnt do himself any favours at all imo,he was as slippery as a snake on most issues,although I must admit I did agree with what he said on one or two things.
He looked sh1t scared and way out of his depth imo.

Similar thoughts to me but I thought that earlier on John Straw was managing better than at the end - when he got evasive

Yes.  I used to hold him in quite high regard (some time ago now).

He has now adopted the common politician's tactic of stating as fact, what he would like to be the truth.

....indeed Chris he rapidly lost credibility after his first stint as Home Secretary then as Foriegn Secretary.

He doesn't really inspire presently as Justice Secretary either

....I think that's a justified comment A.  Running a national administration is slightly more complex than addressing some narrow - albeit topical - concerns.

As I have previously stated, I don't think the BNP have the experience, imagination or maturity to form any credible part of a national government.

The rent-a-mob protesters show one thing at least and that is they haven't much in the way of braincells.

These are my reasons: For a start, the news has been dominated by the protests, thus drawing attention to the fact that Griffin will be appearing on TV.

Secondly, the sight of civil disorder on the street prompts many citizens to take an anti-mob stance, no matter what their cause. Thus, in some, that anti-mob view will translate into a sympathetic view towards the BNP.

Thirdly, most citizens, whatever their political view, would see that, had the BBC caved into the demands of the protesters (which is what some commentators suggested), it would effectively mean that our media can be censored, and freedom of speech curtailed, by a thousand or so protesters.

So, the bottom line is that this protest has been a huge bonus for the BNP.

The problem is that, as so often is the case, valid political objections have been nullified by the antics of a few dimwits, and I mean dimwits.

As to the reason for the BNP's apparent rise in fortunes to date, I think they can be ascribed - primarily at any rate - to the fact that we're currently living in a political vacuum here in the UK.

However look at their leader - do you actually think he has any useful ability?

In your situation I would rather spoil my paper or go for the monster raving loonies or similar.

I did notice that Sayeeda Warsi did state a soft limit on immigration would be a policy of a future Conservative government.

I have to be a bit careful with my words here, but a member of my family may or may not be an elected BNP counciler in my home town.

Now before he joined the BNP he was THE most racist person I have ever met. He was one of those people that you avoided talking to at all costs because no matter what the subject he would always turn it around to race, colour and creed and those f***ing monkeys.

We stopped talking to him (and his family) about a year before he joined the BNP, not just for that reason, but it had a huge bearing on the fall out.

Now he is an object of mirth in our family. Can't stand the racist p**ck and his and his parties views!!!!!!

1) Speak english / willing to learn
2) They want to work

I look at people as individuals.

I know a few UK born of Indian extraction, most are likeable people, and hard working.

I prefer these people to a lot of unemployed by choice underclass whites.

Racism is silly, you need to treat people as individuals.

Disliking people coming here to claim benefits is not racism.

Anti immigration also is not racism.

Most immigration is from the Commonwealth - they already have the Queen as their cerimonial leader.

2) They want to work
