Actually it was closer to 3 million (around 1986). Today's figure? 2.46 million.

Of course Gordon McDoom is a socialist, so it doesn't count.  ::) ::)

She did some very good things and some very bad things imo.
If I am around when Bliar or Brown breathe their last ,I will crack open a bottle, and if they happen to be buried within a reasonable distance from me ,I will go and dance on their graves,a pair of hateful tinkers. :)

I'm no fan of either A - as you know- but I'm afraid that I could never celebrate their death.  I've seen too much of it already to slip into that coat. :(

Blair is a deceitfull grinning b*****d, Brown is out of his depth but as far as I am concerned genuine and even if not likeable WYSIWYG.

Thatcher was strong willed and is my main argument against women only short lists, if women are good enough they do not need to be insulted by a woman only short list.

TBH Brown is now at the Major stage, not hated, not liked, but the general mood is to replace him.

Most hated man in British politics today though is Sith Mandleson

i'm rarely above base, tribal gloating  ;D ;D ;D

seriously tho, there will be a party when the dragon snuffs it - i still don't think most folk down south appreciate what a hate figure she was - witness the Glasgow NE by-election last night - tory vote was up 5% as the last election they didn't even bother with a candidate and only just got the deposit back by a handful of votes this time - now thats some legacy - 20yrs on her party is still so hated that large areas of scotland you've more chance of seeing Elvis riding a unicorn than a tory  ;D
