Its like its a new thing, isn't it.  Nokia's apps were never well promoted, and didn't got that popular. I bet 99% of Nokia smartphones don't have any 3rd party apps installed.

WinCE apps have always been there - probably the biggest advantage of WinCE for most is the open nature, and the easy development.

crApple, to their credit, have managed to market the add-on apps, maily due to the (horrid reliance) integration to iTunes store. Despite the horribly closed nature of their gayPhone and gayPod Touch.  Fair play to them, rehashed an old idea, and made it seem like a big 'new' feature.

blackberry did the same to an extent with email, as l'm sure i dont need to tell you. I'm amased people dont get it.
Nokia only got them selves to blame tbh, they should have twigged long ago that the genral public where not seeing the full functionality of their devices, and hence not buying them. Its cost them millions.

Still “I” know who  makes the best. Even if no other bugger does.  ;D

No such thing as best - its horses for courses :)

Obviously, if you want a simple phone that is an unreliable (hardware and software) heap, and you are of suspect sexuality, then Nokia N series

If you are a gullible pillock, or you work for a corporate, then Blackberry.

If you are sane, then Winmobile (shame nobody but HTC make them)

If you think style is more importnant than substance, then Apple has a product for you :)

fully understand all except this part. Esp as i know you owned an n95 iirc? Can only presume Nokia’s irritating habbit of relesing buggy un finished phones has done your head in? Which is understandable, every nokia i've owned has been crashy on the first couple of software versions.

BUT...I would have thought it ideal for you in the long run as it's menus are totally customiziable. The vast majority of dross aps can be either removed or left in the depths of the menu never to be seen again, leaving the main menu (route folder) full of all the stuff you want and actually use. You've mentioned over complex menus and crap kiddy winks applications in the past, but the former fixs the latter. You can go in as deep as you wanty and be as childish as you like, take it or leave it. Or make ot what you will, i should say.

I get the impression you want only the functions you mention and nothing else?

ps, dont worry though its not a gay phone, but as i recall there was little hesitation in meeting someone you met on the internet in a remote and pleasant country side car park, and going for a ride in his car. ;)

Yeah, I'm tied to a phone with a good email/exchange connectivity.  Which in one foul swoop, rules out *anything* Finnish or Swedish. Including anything Symbian.

The gay Blackberries are only any good if you have a BES server. Pointless otherwise.

crApple have fixed a lot that was wrong with Exchange connectivity recently, but gayPhone still has too many flaws for me.

So left with Windows.

I should add, though I've only had it a couple of days, I'm really impressed with Windows Mobile 6.5

Its a fair bit different so still finding my way around, and not entirely sure where TouchFlo ends and WM6.5 starts. Still looks like it doesn't have the 'gestures' of gayPhone, so no doubt manufactures will still add 'gayPhoness' to it.

? upgrade or new/changed os?

Sorry to disappoint Bill. Def not gay, or windows latest dull boring pathetic attempt. They really should stick to crashing pc's.

Dont knock it til ya tried it. :-) which i know you wont do, it'll make any windows pile look very very brown!
God no. Tell me you haven't gone and got yourself a gayPhone :o -bloody hell, to think I've been alone in the car with you  ;D

A phone is a phone to me and thats all I use it for. Can't be bothered with texting either. A least the screen is in colour  :y, so I hope this is not perceived as being gay.  :y

My Dad was the same, “ OH i dont need all that bo11ocks”...which in the dictionary means
"i have no idea how it works and i'm not going to ask for fear of lookig stupid" so i showed him anyway and he's texting and browsing away like a gooden. But dont worry, i keep reminding him, " ya dont need all that 'dangle berries' Dad" ;D ;D ;D ;D
