Weather warning
« on: 04 January 2010, 23:21:32 »

From Metcheck at 21.20, Monday:

"Our biggest concern at the moment is across central and southern areas of England for Tuesday evening, when it looks like some very heavy snow will develop, bringing some significant falls of between 10 and 20cm, and perhaps even more to some areas. This will cause widespread disruption to travel networks."

Take care, folks!  :y

Read that as well and found it a bit confusing. On the normal Metcheck forecast it only states light snow showers wednesday for my area. (Luton ) Hope there isn`t the same snowfall around here as a couple of weeks ago. Had to walk to work a couple of days  :(

This is the last thing we need to hear about :(

 http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/energy/gas/6933857/Frozen-Britain-may-run-short-of-gas.html

The freezing weather has raised fears that Britain could run short of gas after the National Grid issued only its second warning ever over surging consumption.

In the event of a serious shortage, big industrial consumers are expected to bear the brunt of gas consumption cuts to shield residential users who rely on the fuel to keep warm

It's been non stop since abot 7 o'clock here. About 6" so far. Managed to get the lad to school, but most of the arterial roads are now closing. My main worry is the wife, she set off for Sheffield at 6:45 and managed to get there but I just cant see how she'll get home. I'm gonna brave the elements and walk across to asda. If I dont make it back, it's been nice knowing you. ;D
