WEST Yorkshire Police bosses will investigate the case of two officers found guilty of dangerous driving before making a decision on their futures
Don't really see what there is to investigate, they have been found guilty of a criminal act so they need to go NOW.

Why not 'generalise' the police? They do it every day with the rest of the population who are not members of their little gang.
Whats up, are you, or were you one of them that cannot bear to hear the truth?
They did wrong but thought they could get away with it because they are part of the 'gang'.
Boot them out and stop their pensions! Give them a taste of what they liked to give out. That would be true justice.

Can you expand on your line of thought here Bio?

Whats up, are you, or were you one of them that cannot bear to hear the truth?

I find that to be unecessarily offensive Bio and should it really prevent anyone making a legitimate comment without being castigated in this manner?

They did wrong but thought they could get away with it because they are part of the 'gang'.

Can you really substantiate that comment Bio, what evidence is there to do so?

Boot them out and stop their pensions! Give them a taste of what they liked to give out. That would be true justice

Should they be dismissed Bio their pensions will be deferred to age 60 and no further contributions to the fund will be allowed. That's how the system works and is a matter of fact although your remarks, which I consider tantamount to gloating, are ultimately devalued in my view by the use of such language :( :(

I agree, I think alot of the police are so far up their own backsides they have lost track of the job they are meant to be doing for us.......

As an innocent member of the public I have seen this first hand on two occasions.......

On one occasion I was unjustly pulled over after querying a traffic Volvos speed through a residential area when not on a blue light run......I was later visited at home by the offending PCs Sargeant and  got a full apologyfrom him for the PCs behaviour  arrogance and unproffesionalism....

The second occasion when I reported a patrol car for illegally undertaking me in my 18t truck i heard absolutely NOTHING back........

The Police in this country are there to SERVE US.......not THEMSELVES.......

Both these officers were off duty and committed offences for which they were quite rightly prosecuted - as were the other motorists involved.

Unlike the civilian motorists whose punishment ended with the ruling by the examining Magistrate each of these officers now face disciplinary proceedings where their respective careers, current financial standing and future pension arrangements could be placed  in jeopardy.  It’s not a case therefore of each officer walking away entirely unscathed.

Every serving officer knows the risks involved when stepping outside the law or police regulations; if they choose to do so then they will have to live with the consequences of choices made.

They are also "us"!

Funny that, cos I dont think they even see themselves as "us".........

Another example.......police pulled alongside me once in traffic...years ago.....copper my side winds his window down and asks me what I was doing (dancing around on my seat).....

"Nothing mate....just messing about........" came my reply.....

"Not your mate......." came to coppers retort......

Law unto themselves, and until they all earn my respect they will not get my respect.....simple as that.......

I'm sure when they are on duty they have to detach themselves in order to carry out what we ask of them.  Then they are required to face up to all the scumbags we can muster to put in their path.
Not an easy job in my view, and made all the harder by superiors who want them to chase targets.

You are quite correct M and for the most part they do just that :y

There have been many occasions M when police conduct has fallen  from the standards so rightly expected by each and every one of us however I would be disappointed to learn that you are making your generalised assertion that they are 'so far up their own backsides' based on the two incidents you describe.  :( :(

I have based my comments on my own personal experience of the police.........
