My 1st pair of DECT phones were a pair of Phillips Onis, great phones, comfortable and clear compared to all the wired phones I had ever had. The Onis suffered just a tiny little bit of noise in the earpiece that was negligable.
Tried a couple of Phillips DECT sets off ebay classed a catalogue returns but basically got ripped off.
Then bought a pair of BT Elise phones, all colour, Polyphonic, illuminated keys etc, good phones but still a little bit of line noise (both here and the last place I lived - Brand new line here and different exchange)
After a while with any of the above phones I had suffered buttons that stop working with the ammount of use they get, So decided to buy annother pair of Phillips from Argos, went for the best I could see, just didnt have the sim card copy like the Elise did, but seemed to have the rest. These screwed up after a couple of months and I lost the reciept so got stuck with them.
Had a pair of BT Synergy nice phones, hadnt used them becuase of the fact they were not illuminated key pads, allthough they FOC after a BT cock up. So went back to using the Elise handsets.
Now a while back I saw a set of phones by Panasonic that looked like they were mounted on glass stands, heard good reviews about these, but were not produced any longer when I went to try and buy some. So Whilst looking for a new TV I saw a set of Panasonic phones in sets of 4, 3, 2 and a single. (Panasonic KXTG8424EB.) Saw them at our local Panasonic store, liked them and then went off looking round the net. End result was a saving of £40 and free delivery to my door.
Set them all up on Tuesday, left the BT Elise base plugged in also and for a bit of fun added the Synergy base to the set and lined them up in my bedroom where the incoming BT socket is.
Am truly ammazed that at last I have a completely quiet phone to the point where I have asked 3 different people if they were still on the line because I thought mine or thier batteries had gone flat and we had been disconested.. Can copy the phone book from phone to phone with out having the 2nd phone in my hand to accept the update (Bt phone in particular)
Nice illumination, slightly bigger screen, easy to read display. Plus no issues at all with 3 bases plugged in and a total of 8 phones on the go.

So a thumbs up to Panasonic.
