For all the increasingly suspicious utterances of the IPCC and their camp-followers, running-dogs, toadies and blinded disciples, I would have thought that the true sustainer of all life on this planet has a much bigger say in how our climate will change.
Scientists have long been aware that disturbances on the sun can trigger dangerous x-rays, charged particles and magnetic fields that can disrupt power supplies, communication signals and aircraft navigation systems on Earth.

Tongue firmly out of cheek here, my wise nephew

Hang on - isn't this the theory that was proposed in the Channel 4 film The Great Global Warming Swindle about 3 years ago? I thought that the program had been discredited along with the scientists it featured and their theories.
I'm not sure by whom J and I didn't see that programme. I would have thought however that if NASA is mounting this mission, there was something of interest to be investigated.
Irrespective of whatever energy is generated and subsequently used here on earth - and its resultant waste product of course - the sun must hold the potential to render all that irrelevant.
Hava a look at these:

Maybe a large part of the program was biassed political propaganda, but the sun cycle theory was expounded then, and got rubbished by the critics who said the entire program was nonsense.
I don't know.

Thank you J, I did look at those links. This is another case of those AGW protagonists being sceptical about opinion made which is contrary to their own viewpoint.
I haven't seen the programme so have to depend on these reports to try and understand why the sun theory was so readily discounted, although I did note the part of the WIKI piece where the view was that AGW seems the have been settled science - that I find disturbing.
In my simplistic view, if the sun shines there is warmth and light - if it doesn’t, it is cold and dark. Having that degree of influence over our daily existence, I think it more than reasonable to suggest that it can similarly influence the climatic conditions of this planet.
