One measurement idea:

Put Sammy in the corner and check the condition of your printer at the end of the day?  ;)

Probably worth keeping an eye on blood pressure. Got sent to the doc by the life insurance muppets on that one a few years back. Doc didn't seem overly worried. Was probably their interrogation technique more than anything else, but made me think I'm perhaps getting to the sort of mileage where it's worth glancing at the gauges every now and then. ::)

Kevin
Sammy is still missing.  I reckon Mrs TB reckons I must suffer from stress as well ;D. Or decided the bank balance cannot withstand another moment of rage with Sammy and I on the rampage ;D

I suspect my blood pressure would be like that Carry On film where they are taking Sid James' blood pressure and Barbara Winsor walks in  :-[

As I understand it, stress is a feeling of being out of control.  I'm also not sure I have experienced it, but the symptoms can be subtle, rather than feeling constantly anxious.

Take up a sport - you may lose a few pounds, you definately feel better for the exercise and if it is competitive (which it would be!) then you get to vent your frustration out.

Or, having been there, you could just put it down to working for an American outfit!  ;D
I'd love to take up sport, but I only play to win.  I don't think I'm fit enough to win, so won't attempt it.  Chicken and egg.

I blame it on that tinpot yankee computer firm I work for ;D

Exactly what I am like.  I had to join a Gym :-[ and go for 2 months before I started playing squash again to prevent almost certain death.  Even then I kept getting injured putting more effort in than I could cope with.

I play tennis now, its much easier to play without killing yourself.  Give Tunnie a game - a bit of exercise and the chance to take pots shots at the useless student! ;) ;D

Like your style :y

We were going to do badmington at work, but my colleagues are good at that, and I have visions of coming back black and blue ;D.  Fortunately they closed Bletchley leisure centre so it never happened.

im highly stressed, get worked up very quick, over nothing or silly things most of the time. if i know a journey will be 15mins, i'll leave 45 mins early and panic like hell if im not going to meet the time i estimated of being there, even though im still early.

If you think you might be stressed, the one item of advice I can offer is don't decide to fit a new kitchen.  :-X

I can't stand gyms, TBH, and my doctor agreed with me when he suggested I might like to become a little more active. ;)

Doing something active does seem to provide an outlet for when some muppet at a call centre has made it onto your hate list, though.

Swimming works OK for me as, despite seemingly being as tedious as sitting in a gym riding a bike that doesn't go anywhere whilst watching drivel on TV, you are isolated from most of the other clientèle and can ponder things while doing a few lengths and the time flies.

Cycling seems pretty good on that score as well, although my bike has been hanging from the garage wall for longer than I care to admit.  ::)

doctors do nothin about stress.. they only take your money  ;D (sorry STMO)

now ,imho stress stems firstly from our childhood years..

what kind of life we had and used to live..(really worth
thinking what happened-I did )

I'm afraid, also our adult life is giving us more than we can handle..

Crowded cities, rush hour traffic, completing jobs in time, bills waiting in the post box are enough reasons..

I personally have my solutions ;

making things simpler is a key..

responsibility feeling is another cause.. which we have to deal with..

planning realistic times for events is another..

and definitely having time for sports (everyday), reading is a must to make our brains
busy with other things so we will find chance to relax..

Constantly thinking and focusing on some special subjects causes ill effects..

imho there are sound advices in those links;

good luck :y :y

ps : I found table tennis easy to try and applicable in most conditions.. even in winter..

No Cem. In the UK you dont pay, unless you want to. When you say doctors know nothing about stress, they actually top the league for stress at work.

Sorry, I meant Dr Cem ::)

It can accumulate very gradually and you accept that thats the way you are supposed to feel.

I had a major episode in my younger years that near rather finished me off. I know the warning signs now ::)

Get yerself checked out, but be warned they are really into checking your prostate these days! :o
