I,ll second you on that Hercules,it,s the bloodly sunday drivers that hold me up,and the speed limited trucks which are made to toddle along at their most fuel efficent speed. They are a real problem to overtake without even thinking about that outside lane being there.
Alfie.
im a trucker an as far as im concerned i wished the morons who invented   the speed limiter would stick it as far up their asses as they can, its more pain in the arse to us truckers than farmer piles !!!!!!!!!!!

The worst are the supermarket supply chain trucks! I did about 2 years at Sainsburys in Shire Park (Worcester) and then Hams Hall (Coleshill) and in all the time and different units I drove I never once got one of them over 53mph. Most sat around 50mph, downright dangerous IMHO!

Last time out with the van I decided to keep below the permitted 60mph on the motorways.
Main reason was to see if I could get any more out of the TD estate mpg wise.
Big mistake, I was continually getting caught up with truckers either holding me up or boxing me in.
I was trying to stick to around 55mph, not doing that again it's foot down and get pass them.

Hmm....might have to refit that chip now.

BTW.....I don't mind truckers, they have to keep the speed down. But please show more courtesy to us caravans when overtaking, they used to flash :o you back in lane, very rare now :-?.

I tow alot for work (our usual driver's been knocked off his motor cycle). We have a Merc Splinter flat bed (pile of crap).
I don't have any problems with most of the caravans or trucks on the motorways, it's bloody middle lane hoggers. I can do 60mph, but i can't use the suicide lane & i'm not suppossed to undertake them ::)
Why oh why do they just sit there >:( they know it's wrong, they know it causes frustration, but they do it.

I wish they'd all FOAD :y

Yes it is the season for the caravan "wipe outs", with the remains of caravans and their contents to be scattered over the M4, M5, M6, and all other main roads North, South, East and West!! ::) ::) ::) :D :D

...................and during my 40 years of motoring I have seen it all with these pikey homes! ::) ::) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;)

The best one I saw was a Toyota 4x4 that had been taken out by the twin axle van it was towing, and was laying across all lanes of the South bound M6!! :o :o :o  Fortunatly I was travelling North!! :D :D :D ;)

it's cause they only come out once or twice a year at the busiest of times on the motorway and you see them (as lee evans says) looking like a fat bloke on the rear end of a conger line :D

cos it's easier to sit there than actually drive & take notice of what's going on around you.  ::)

I would'nt call myself a serious caravanner, i only have mine for car meets because tenting is a complete faff.
As for middle lane trucks yes i can see how it annoys folk but we're limited to 56mph, some do 54 some do 58, we all are carrying different weights & are on cruise control for hours at a time so are not going to change speed for a car or van that can go as fast as it likes & can use the outside lane. ::)

Trucks limited to 56 mph, yeh really... ::)
I know many are, and I have driven those that are, and a real pain it can be, but why do I see so many trucks doing upwards of 70, and more mph, and I don't mean down hill........... ::) ::) ::)

My own thoughts about caravan accidents are,
1,caused by poorly maintained vans.
2 badly loaded vans.
3 speeding.

Most of the causes of traffic delays after these accidents are from RUBBERNECKERS slowing down to look at the carnage.
