Istanbul - my favourite "new" track and easily Hermann Tilkes best (tho thats not too difficult) anyway should be good - massive quad-apex turn 8 that everyone bangs on about - but it will be interesting on cold tyres and full fuel loads, plenty of overtaking opportunities throughout the circuit - watching qualy at work and looking forward to the race  - Red Bulls should take pole/2nd but theyre not the most powerful cars and on the long back "straight" (its kinked) could be vulnerable in the race :y

Enjoyed todays race the bits I saw, specialy the red bull  ::) overtake and then the Mclaren overtake.  :o

Best overtake challenge for a while though.  :y

Not gonna mention the result for those that have not seen it.

There are no more highlights on tonight, so it's ok to say that Vettel won it.

gifted result? yes, but it was %^$£&'s impatience, coupled with %^&%$'s refusal to give way that led to ^&*%^%$& leading, until his team mate, ^&^%^& tried to take him and got bitch-slapped by team orders, presumably from ^&%$$^& :y :y

exactly - its not in the title so its fair game - if you dont want to know the result, you have no business opening an F1 thread  :y

Nice 1,2 McLaren, Hammy drove the nuts off that car to stay in touch with the Red Bulls - pity they argued with each other before the end of the race - I'd be gutted if I was Webber - what the fek was Vettel thinking? "I'll just nudge him out the way, I'm the no.1 driver....he'll move over?"  sorry vettel, but aussies rarely, if ever, back down m8  ;D ;D

Interestingly, Christian Horner in his later interview seemed to have changed his tune and seemed to be pinning the blame on Webber. :o :o
Eddie Jordan was so bemused and annoyed he was almosr lost for words. If the team are backing Vettel it can only mean that he is the favoured driver who they want to hang on to more than webber. Wouldnt be surprised if Webber moves teams at the end of the season, after Horners comments. :-/

i think you're right albs, vettel's definitely the golden boy in the team, dangerous game to play this early in the season as webber wont give a &^%* for team orders if he sees them playing favourites  :y

Agreed, and whats more he is leading the championship so should have the full backing of the team. He should also be able to pick up a decent drive next season if he has to after his performance so far this year.
I think Vettels move came from desperation tbh, its beginners stuff in single seaters, you dont get your front wheel in between another cars wheels, it usually ends in tears, he should have known better, and been man enough to admit his mistake afterwards. I lost all respect for him today.
Another Scumacher in the making ?

I haven't heard why Webber lost so much speed to let Vettel alongside.  Did he miss a gear or what?

There certainly wasn't much room on the track for Vettel and although his car veered into Webber's, I couldn't see his steering wheel move.  Perhaps it was too small a movement?

it seems Webber was asked to take it easy on his engine, while Vettel wasn't given the same instructions.........make of that what you will  ::)

as for the incident, i think webber did the right thing - stayed straight and gave vettel just nough space - then vettel moved right, into webber, assuming webber would move out of his way - which he doesnt need to or should - and didnt  :y
