I will be opening the OOF academy soon for "sun sea and sangria" and the opportunity to fault find, practice on simple jobs like these mentioned above. Just need a few cheap V6 Minifacelift Elites for suckers students to work on.

the actual jobs I don't mind doing ...... it's wading through previous bodges that annoys me. Especially on anything that's been in Police service.

On a new police car, I pretty much immediately book a week-long "ex-piggery" event with it.

worst bodges :-

broken dual vertical air intake ducting
incorrectly-routed pipework in the vee
and my personal favourite, incorrectly-routed crank position sensor wiring
[/highlight]

is that incorrectly routed by gm or still too damn close to the exhaust ::)

Not too hard a job.......but a pain, is the "warm armpit" oil change syndrome....................on a V6.

or the "rounded off" paper element oil filter casing job.  Nice.

Doing the Head Gasket on a 2.5TD, getting it back together and running like a dream only to discover it was faulty and leaked >:( >:( >:( >:( I cannot put into words the complete and utter feeling of dejection I had at that point and I (honestly) put very serious thought into scrapping the bloody thing and buying a Rover 75.

Thankfully I saw the light and tackled it all over again, and in less than quarter of the time it took me originally. I really enjoyed it too!!!!

So, not really in the top ten of worse jobs, sorry to waste your time ;D :D :D ;D ::) ::)
