Where is St Edmond School? I keep getting text messages from them stating that unless any arrears of school dinner monies are cleared by this friday your child will not be served food as and from coming Monday. Some firm called NCC caterers are supplying them, so it says in the text message.
Seems a little harsh to me, to leave a kid without food, but on the other hand parents on Low Income will be entitled to Free Dinners will they not? And Parents earning good money should not have arrears, so on hindsight I think they are correct.
Strange why I am getting the messages though, never even heard of the school.

I did try Z, but it will not take texts, so I am assuming it is a machine auto sending them for some reason. Just tried again by clicking on REPLY and no reply telephone number appears to send it to. STRANGE. :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/

Probably a simple typing error when someone in the school office was entering contact info for students' parents.

This is most likely a silly question, but have you scrolled right through the message to see if there is any contact number? Apologies if you have.....

Probably a simple typing error when someone in the school office was entering contact info for students' parents.

This is most likely a silly question, but have you scrolled right through the message to see if there is any contact number? Apologies if you have.....

I have read all the message, I have had dozens of them literally dozens. No phone number anywhere. I have no idea where they got my number from as to my knowledge there are only 8 people with my number and only one in the OOF.
I bought my number years ago.

I have also had my mobile number for quite some time. A while ago I started getting texts from someone I didn't know, and which were addressed to someone I didn't know.

Turned out that the intended recipient's number was almost the same as mine, their code was 07885, mine is 07785 - the caller had typed their friend's number into their phonebook wrong...

In this case I was getting the sending number so I just called them to ask who they were, and we sorted it out.

Bit more tricky for you. Any chance your phone network provider could help?

Try first this St Edmunds School in Canterbury.  Although there are a few schools of that name listed, the St Edmunds in Canterbury is very 'up market' and would have the type of parents who would forget such a 'piddling' thing as school dinner money or even fees!!

Not as archaic as you think.  I started secondary school in 1993.  We had swipe cards which were 'topped up' with cash or online via card payments.

They worked in the same was as your tickets, just a newer version I guess.

I've never heard of schools giving food and receiving payment later, and I've got loads of Nieces and Nephews.  :-/

Currently in County Durham, all primary school children get free school meals, started about a year ago, saves me a few quid.... bet this stops soon with this new government...

You'd be suprised how lucky some school kids are to get fresh, warm school meal. I've worked in many school that don't have kitchens, the kids either take in sandwiches or the food is cooked in the morning and delivered to the school by van
