Face lift Alloys
« on: 07 July 2010, 03:39:39 »

Parts for sale thread/

2 people mention MV6 alloys for sale, neither have posted pictures.

1 says says MV6 flat faced alloys other says MV6 bevelled edge allys, now of course bith of these may well be right according to year of manufacture, but could some kind person give me a quick lesson with pictures on wheel names and models of cars they were fitted on and their diameters.

TIA.  :y

I like the wheels on the silver car in the following picture but dont know what they are called, not a fan of the wheels on the blue car but believe these to be the above mantioned flat faced MV6 wheels.  Am I roght or wrong here.?

I think the blue car is a something from the VAG. The wheels on the silver Omega are CD alloys.

This is a Facelift 17" MV6 alloy

On this is the very similar 17" Elite Facelift alloy

these are the 'other' facelift MV6 Wheels

and of course the old toffee pre facelift mv6 wheels

As Pete said, the ones you like are bog standard CD wheels, and I think that is the full set of standard MV6 wheels now  :y

Think it was 2002/2003 when MV6/Elite wheels became same as per Josh's car. Blue car pictured in the background above looks like a Skoda Superb to me!

About right, I was focusing on the wheels, not the car, I know there are some flat fronted miggy wheels and they were what I was looking at, I obviously really pay attension at 3.30am, in fact have not even been to bed yet, went out for a spin to take some photographs at 5.30am and got back at 8.00am. - in faxt tunnie, had it have been a sunny start I would have headed of to lady bower and derwent vally for my picks ( we talked about it a s a biker day out for you a while back)   :y

Post 2002 '52' MV6's and Elite's have the same wheels, the 17'' later style, as seen on Jimbob's estate and both of my '03' Elite's. Pre '52' have the 5 spoke thicker design.
Phil, take a quick look at the guide to facelift's I created...I think it's in the FAQ section. That shows most wheels, shows older Elite wheels, CDX wheels and the later MV6/Elite wheels.
The wheels pictured in the photo you supplied are 16'' CD wheels, also fitted to police spec Omega's post '51' plate typically.

Just had another read as I had forgotton a lot of it, could'nt really get a good view of the wheels - excellent guide though.

Would be nice to have pictures of all the wheels available together somewhere, plus maybe the normal, prodrive and Irmscher comparisons for front and rear spoilers.

The ones EP posted are as he says, the ones on Joshs' cars were fitted to both the Elite and MV6 in 2002 on 52 plate cars and later. The blue car is a Skoda superb and the alloys on the silver car are 16" facelift CD alloys or 51 plate and later police special alloys in most cases :y
