bloody cars
« on: 28 July 2010, 20:36:53 »

2 simple jobs tonight....

new illumination lamps in her dash...
swap her stereo with my old stereo  (both pioneer)

new lamps fitted, sorted, now need to order 4 new mid lamps  >:(

why oh why didnt I forsee that one  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Removed her stereo no problem.  The cd mechanism is a bit dodgy, but it also has rear USB...So I am going to have that in my new one and just use the USB, and she can have the similar one out my old car.

So removed it, unwired the microphone no probs,
Removed the traffic master loom for some more space

Routed the mic from mine, sorted the plugs and adaptor (steering and display) all working fine.

But can I get the sodding thing to slide in the final inch, can I hell  >:(

Fitted flush no probs, with the traffic master loom still present in my old one.

Must be a break in the aerial lead somewhere too, or the amp is knackered, cos cannot get a radio station out of it.  (couldnt before either, but not too much of an issue to bother with)

5 minute break, and back to it.  Now where did I put Sammy  :-/

I'm lucky with the 2005, space underneath to tuck cables in.

Its also very easy to pop that rear ariel cable off when popping it all back in, done that many a time  :y

Looks like they are the same price in most places.

Which mounts are they JB.

has the radio worked before? Worth popping another radio in to see if its the NCDC at fault? Also mother T's has a common fault where it takes a few mins for the radio to work  :(  :-/

I can start the car, and get to the by-pass before radio springs into life
