CAMRA Beer Festival
« on: 09 September 2010, 14:58:08 »

In approx. 3 hours I shall be sampling the delights of some very nice real ales at the Chappel Railway Museum :y.  Very nostalgic in terms of drinking real ale inside an old railway coach and the like 8-).

I'm hoping this will relieve the pain of my injury, well at least for tonight anyway ::).

So if you would like to join me in a trip down railway memory lane and enjoy a pint too you are all quite welcome to come :P

I doubt i will be in too much of a fit state to write anything this evening so best do it now. ;)

I used to love going to the Chappel festival. Are they still running the last orders beer train? I think it was 11 or 12 they had a train stop on the mainline and take you back home. Make certain you try all the good one's before the masses descend on there later  :y

Yep they still run the last beer train, thinks it something like 23:25.  And I plan on trying lots of different pain killers 8-)

Its only 5 minures away from me. Would loved to have nipped down for a quick pint John, but I am at work until 8am tomorrow.
Will keep an eye out on the way home just in case you are wandering aimlessly around North Essex in the morning. :y ;D ;D
That old shed where they have the beer etc. was the venue for Blurs first ever gig. When they reformed last year, they held their first reunion gig in the old shed for family/friends and fan club members.

Thinking about it, it could be a good venue for an evening OOF meet next year. Seems the 2 things most peeps have in common is a love of Migs and Beer - not necassarily in that order. ::) ;D

Old trains and proper beer. Sounds like Mr DTM,s idea of heaven. Iirc Kevin Wood is partial to a gallon or 2 of real ale also. Dont tell pinky though. He tends to become rather "affectionate" after a couple of sniffs of the barmaids apron. ::) ;) ;D ;D
