It's a dirty Zit-Tec. Should be more than that TBH
No It's not. Nothing that advanced fits under the bonnet of a Ka.

You have educated me again Mister Wood. I thought the Street Ka's had the Zetec. I stand erected
I think the newer ones do mine is on the old old Duratec but at least i don't have a timing belt to worry about
I believe I'm correct. Problem is, Ford put whatever name on an engine they like, regardless of its' roots.
The Ka was originally supposed to be getting a fairly radical engine which was killed off by EU emissions legislation. Ford then found at a late stage in development that the only engine that wasn't too tall for it was the old Endura E of late 50's Anglia vintage which rattled on for a while before being replaced by the Duratec badged 8v SOHC engine, previously developed in Brazil as the Zetec ROCAM by fitting an ali OHC head to a development of the Endura E block. It bears no resemblance to any of the 4 valve per cylinder engines previously branded Zetec and Duratec.
I believe neither the full fat Zetec E nor the smaller Zetec S / Sigma engines will fit nor were ever fitted to a Ka, which is a shame as the Sigma is a nice, revvy, yet reasonably refined, economical and reliable engine IME.
