That'a bit risky - the people might decide that they don't really need all those overpaid useless council executives!

Of course, it is always sensible to save money but the street lights were presumably put there for a purpose in the first place.  :-?

maybe the bill also includes those wonderful lights on the Notts stretch of the M1?

There are stretches of the M4 that are illuminated & I recall that I was once told that this was because that section fell within town boundaries & therefore lighting was mandatory

Another thing is that pollution will increase due to increased traffic, less people will walk. Women certainly won't feel safe walking.
Crime will go through the roof.
Just a few thoughts.

Best place for a Kebab is the pavement rather than in your stomach!
