Eating humble pie again!

I've been belittling those who can't get to work while i fly up & down the country. BIG MISTAKE. The main routes are the easy bit. After 3 days the Beastie had to be dragged out of a drift that covered one side & on the other side the snow was past the hubs. A carrot, couple of bits of coal, hat, scarf & i'd have had my own snowmig! She's running fine but the power steering has packed up again & i dare not drive into my road as it's terrible & if i got onto the drive i'd never get off again tomorrow.
     She is now parked round the corner on the road, i probably won't sleep tonight with worry about her getting crashed into albeit a quiet area. I realize now localized problems are more trouble than i gave them credit for, humble pie sticks in the throat!!!! Guy.XXX :(

We only had an inch of snow last night (all we have had so far) but getting out of the estate this morning was a nightmare ---- not helped at all by having to pilot a skoda fabia ---- 'orrible little cars.

Yes Guy, local B/U classification road conditions (especially rural/hilly areas hereabouts) are pretty dreadful at the moment.....I`ve stopped twice today in the Disco, to help other motorists stuck in icy-drifts. One lady had on an 'office-suit' (no coat!) and heeled shoes when she climbed out of her Toyota on an isolated country road, upon which, one could barely stand up on due to the slick ice! :o
She said she was going to complain to the dealer because a "new car" (like hers), shouldn`t get stuck!
I struggled to contain my contempt for her attitude to the dangerous road/weather conditions. :-X

Well done Guy, indeed the main roads are mostly OK, however; today I went to the doctors in the next village, could not turn the car around so drove through the village onto the bypass back home.  We needed some things so we decided to go to Tesco as all I had to do was get out of the village.. ::) ::) We also took and order from the old couple who live next door and set off about an hour later...main roads that had been clear had a couple of inches on..passable OK with some care but conditions change so quickly....

On return we could not get the car on the drive, the plough had been through our village again so we had to move a wall of snow to get the car safely parked.. ::) ::)

FFS. That is everything that is wrong with the bloody country. Gah!

I hope you pushed her into the snowdrift and left her there!

Actually, scrub that... Even that main roads around here have been a nightmare today  :D

Mind you... The Omega has been superb as usual... Yet again out performing FWD and some 4x4's ;) ;) :y :y

Cant beleive that womans attitude!  has she not seen the news!  and juding from what youve said...she is meant to be the brainy one ;)
