Don't worry, the rest of us will stick at it

top man  but ive enjoyed having some time off  and my boss has told me to have the rest of the week off  paid :)

now what shall i do with all my free time ;D ;D

 >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >: Lucky sod ;D

does help when your boss is a mate  and a very nice boss ;D

I have to take holiday or unpaid leave, even if I try to get in and fail......but as long as I get in for a few hours, leaving early then I get full pay so not too bad as long as this does not go on for too long... :)
big thing on the news tonight about companies not wanting to pay people who cant get in  absolute disgrace if people genuinely try to get in
Wasnt there a web chat thing with a lawyer explaining peoples rights also attched to this item ?

Im lucky, all I need is power and a broadband connection and I can work anywhere.

Today, sat in the conservatory.  :D
have a 3g card, so can be sat in a field somewhere  :D

Really makes no difference to me, or my colleagues where I am actually sat most of the time.

travelling from Perth to Stirling on the A9 all week - closed on Monday, apart from that its one lane, driving snow and I think I touch the brakes maybe once the whole journey because I leave a huge distance between me and the guy in front you never need to brake - now if only everyone was as awesome as me, no roads would ever close  :y

No, do what all the other idiots do, drive up someones boot, rev the car like mad in the lowest gear and take joy in the wheels spinning without going anywhere , and stand on the brakes and wonder why your not stopping. ::)

you've inspired another ditty Amigo:

On a dark snowbound highway, cold wind in my hair
Warm smell of diesel, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
So I parked on the shoulder;
I heard weather report
And I was thinking to myself,
’this could be heavy and this could be hell’
Then I lit up a ciggie and drank from my flask
There were voices on the radio,
I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the hotel Volvo cabin
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely place
Climate control in the hotel Volvo cabin
At this time of year, you'll be warm in here

Then a girl came up to me, she drove a mercedes benz
She got it stuck on the M1 and couldn't call any friends
So she climbed in the Volvo, and I started to sweat.
There was only one bunk, maybe 2, I forget...

So I opened the glovebox,
’and uncorked the wine’
she said, ’I haven’t drank any "blue nun" since nineteen eighty nine’
And still those snowflakes are falling from far away,
Woke her up in the middle of the night
Told her - you'll have to stay...

Welcome to the hotel Volvo cabin
Such a lovely place
Such a lovely face
They livin’ it up at the hotel Volvo cabin
What a nice surprise, bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling,
The pink champagne on ice
And she said ’we are all just prisoners here, of the snow and the ice’
And in the councils gritters,
They gathered from the east
They salt it as best they can,
But they just can’t clear the street

Last thing I remember, I was
turning the key
I had to find the passage back
To the A453
’relax,’ said the police man,
We are blocked up to Leeds.
You can start-up any time you like,
But you can never leave!

Like the prize chump following me in  a works van this morning.. or does the Citroen Berlingo have powers that defy the laws of physics when it comes to stopping (and I don't mean braking down. I know they are good at that!)?

But you forgot that you must dawdle up every hill at precisely the worst speed for keeping a car moving on snow (this morning's research states that's about 8.5 MPH), and then stop at the top to take a call on your mobile phone, and sod the half dozen cars behind you losing traction. Yep - minicab driver in Dogmersfield this morning. >:(

Just watched a taxi driver in our Close, went from bottom of a very gentle slope to the top with the front wheels spinning like mad!

All it's done is to polish the snow into ice. >:(

What's it all about Alfie?... Sorry. Joking aside that does'nt surprise me at all. I guess he runs for a large firm? I know the Kent area has been hit hard by snow, operation stack is in full swing on the M20. Northampton is relatively clear now...or it was this afternoon! :y
