having worn safety footwear for donkeys years
Rigger boots for the win for me wouldnt have anything else, even wear them for quadbiking!!
Indeed. Riggers all the way. Easy to kick off when you get a crazy itch on your foot. Try that with your lace ups! 8-)

Oh but rigger boots are a nightmare if your welding or cutting with bottles . . . Ouch   :o

it is advisable to wear your trousers outside the boots when doing those jobs!!! :y

used to wear dms but tbh they never lasted as long as i expected and kept splitting at the side. Ive heard cats are ok though. The ones that work supply are steel capped boots made by arco which are also slip resistant and have always found them comfortable and quitehard wearing. I probably have new ones about once a year mostly as they get a bit tatty by the end of 12mths and being on my feet for 60 odd hours a week ;D End of the day I get them free of charge for my job so why not change them. Anyhow, might be worth checking them out if they do retail them to individuals as well as companies :y

I guess safety trainers are what I'm looking for, but most seem to suggest DM's are best over time. But they rub my heel like mad.

I have the same problem with DMs.
I use a no.1 adjustment tool (BFH) on them until the leather goes soft - very therapeutic.

At the moment I'm using a pair of "Rugged" hiking boot type steelies. 25 quid from "wynsors". Had them about a month, still look tidy, and feel as comfy as slippers.

Ive had to wear HSE Boots or trainers for a while now, tried most of them, either uncomfortable or make your feet sweat, my last and current set are JCB Trekker Trainers, I can highly recommend them, their comfy, well made and seem to last without falling apart, think I paid around 25 quid for mine so worth shopping around. I also carry the PPE ticket that comes with them because most people on site just think their normal trainers.

I use Karrimor steel toecap shoes. Got mine from Sports Direct I think it was called in Poole.
Really comfortable, just brought another pair for normal home use.
They also do a boot version. :y

For work or pleasure I wear the same type of shoe, courts with 6" heels!  It is just the colour for that day that I have to decide.

Bet not many of you do! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D  ;) ;)

I buy the PPE for shop floor workers at my place . These http://www.arco.co.uk/products/6K8000/183891/Dr.%20Martens%20Black%20Safety%20Footwear     are by far the favourite choice for most of the guys.

I live in "Tiger"'s. Nice dark blue brushed effect leather. Steel toe caps and metal plate full length of sole. They are light in weight and cost 22 euros(about £18)  Come in a shoe or in a boot.

Uceda on the bottom road in Loja. Next time I see you I will bring a pair for perusal. Not sure Blue is your colour. I'll ask if they do Red!
