I don't think you could pay me enough to go..

I'm a giant wuss when it comes to needles  :-X :-/ It took me 15 years to pluck up the courage to go and get stuck with a little needle for a local in order to get my foot fixed!

Ditto - I'm a control freak so the first time I had trouble with needles their advice of "Just don't look and you won't feel it!" was about as much use as a chocolate teapot.. I tried therapy, hypnosis, meditation .. nothing worked and the last time they tried to stick me (as a kid) I bolted for the door with only one shoe on!

Last year my ex basically forced me to go and get it sorted out, so I bit the bullet and .. it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I imagined it would be, even if it wasn't particularly pleasant.

Still don't think you could stick a cannula in my arm, though.

Nothing to worry about Aaron ;)......the needle is about as thick as the tube you stick in the nozzle of a can of WD40 :o :o :o......it took only four minutes and fifty seconds to drain 470ml out of my body today......Apparently I'm a " fast bleeder".......veins like drain pipes ..so I'm told.... :y :y :y

In the past a regular donator ... but not been allowed to for the past 16 years due to a proscribed illness .... shame really as my blood group, whilst not "rare" is one of the minor ones ...

All I can say is .. "well done" to those that do ... and if you don't (and have no specific reason for not doing so) .. please give the matter a few moments thought.

It's not difficult or painful and can save many many lives

You surprise me Nige, when I was flying in the mob, they wouldn't let aircrew donate! :(

I was presented with my gold medal pack for my 50th donation when I last gave a few weeks ago!  [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] [smiley=happy.gif] Mine is A rhesus neg, apparently one of the less common types.  ;) ;) ;)
