I'm not allowed any more due to illness and medication :(
I think I was up to about 16 pints when I had to quit.

In the past a regular donator ... but not been allowed to for the past 16 years due to a proscribed illness .... shame really as my blood group, whilst not "rare" is one of the minor ones ...

All I can say is .. "well done" to those that do ... and if you don't (and have no specific reason for not doing so) .. please give the matter a few moments thought.

It's not difficult or painful and can save many many lives

You surprise me Nige, when I was flying in the mob, they wouldn't let aircrew donate! :(

Not allowed to donate whilst on flying duties, but was allowed to whilst on ground tours... so whilst on the 2 sim instructor tours, 2 ground school instructor tours and the 3 years of misery at Finningly I managed to give away a few armfuls .....  :)

Well done guys,

I just got my bronze last time round. Its good to help out, you never know when you might need to make a withdrawl  :y.

P.S. the needle they use for the blood is no where near the size of a WD40 pipe, its a standard needle. If you concentrate your mind on something else, like how much it will cost for the next petrol refill  :'( :'( :'( You will hardly notice it going in.

Well done to all you donators, I'm very embarrassed to say that I've never given blood, but I pledge to go make an appointment to do so asap. The missus used to but she's actually too small (less than 8 stone - very petite) and she used to lie about her weight  :o

I was once a regular donor, giving in the order of 40 units of blood.

Regrettably they will not let me donate now as I am diabetic and on medication!! :'( :'(
