You use manual DNS on your network settings and use those instead or as I originally suggested 4.2.2.2

dns:156.154.70.22
alternate dns :156.154.71.22

Sorry cem .. what do I do with that info ??

this is another free dns..  that routes you ..

also try reaching same destinations with safe proxies..

I'm curious what causes that ?

from network settings (sorry)

OK .. understand now .. :)  Just stuck them in the router and rebooted .. off to try now ..

Don't understand the free proxie bit mind .. :(

EDIT ..

No change .. BT, Paypal, etc still don't connect and doing a tracert they time out at exactly the same IP

I guess its something to do with the AOHell BB line ???  The ones that worked before .. still work ... the ones that didn't .. still don't .. :(

free proxies hide your ip (not sure will work for your case) but may use an alternative route

also I ckecked the ip's from

http://www.ip-adress.com/whois/

seems BT server :-?

Proxy (Caching) servers simply cache pages to speed up browsing. Similar to your Internet Exploiter cached pages.

No need to alter the router, change the Host DNS entry (PC)

We were with Freedom 2 Surf, who got taken over by talktalk, etc. Service was steadily getting worse with time. We changed to "Be", and downloading is considerably faster. Mind you, some sites like Ebay take a while to finish downloading pages. I wonder if its BT at fault ?. If I understand correctly, the signal has to go through BT's exchange and computer before reaching your ISP's network, so if BT's stuff is slowing things down, you are stuffed. Could they be giving preference to their customers in terms of bandwidth ?.
