I think Millwall that is going to be a legal binding agreement, and is why West Ham are going to obtain the stadium with public funds. ;) ;)

bulldoze it, got enough football stadiums around. How about a decent swimming pool or snowzone? Something London does not have!

I dont care who gets it, but the taxer payer should be fully reimbursed for the cost, but they wont be just like we werent for the £600 million tent just down the road. It got sold for £1 iirc.

I don't know why we bothered with the whole Olympics. Let someone else have the hassle. Spend a ruddy fortune on a load of international willy waving then hope the white elephant you've built will come in handy after its' 2 week stint in the limelight. >:(

Spurs want to knock it down if they get in. We've already lost Wembley & are crap @ world cup & olympics. Sorry but it's true. We should keep out of it all until football get's back to the days of real teams & players like in the 60's.
Besides we can't afford to host anything given the financial state we're in.

Tent? Is that the millenium dome? If so , I think that that was one of the greatest slurs ever on Britain. We went there and thought it was great. Then the wretched press weighed in and "did it down". ONLY in Great Britain. ANY other country with self respect and pride would have trumpeted the good points and there were many, and we would all have been proud. Instead rather bizarrely we "did ourselves down".  Isn't it now holding world class pop concerts in what was otherwise a run down part of London?

Maybe the Olympics is heading the same way........................... GRRR

I cannot see how anyone could justify £600 million of taxpayers money being spent on it, or consider it a fitting structure to celebrate the new millenium.
After it was turned over to the private sector it became a good concert and entertainment venture agreed, but the original cost and its intended purpose - an outrage imo. ;)

My thoughts on olympic stadium are it's a waste of money.
Why there's the need to keep building new buildings, etc, for a one off every x4 year (whatever) sporting event is beyond me?.

As for after the event it brings in tourist revenue, come on, you spend £600 million of taxpayers money on the event, and I bet you wouldn't even get that back alone just with the tourist revenue in the same time as it took to build the damn thing.

I'm all for showing the skills off in sporting events and those that have them, but not at the expense of spending money needlessly when there are events which could be held at already built sporting arenas.

Jezzz... £600 million of taxpayers money, beggers belief!  :o :-/

Apparently the seating capacity will be reduced from 80,000 to 60,000 for their use.  So the Hammers, as usual, are thinking small time!! :D :D :D :D :D ;)

Think they could reduce it even further  as we all know they are coming down this year  :D ;D :D

On a serious note tho ... The Ricoh is an awsome place WHEN  its full  ( which isnt often these days) but as ive already said most of the time its souless with all the empty seats :'(
