why is everyone so obssessed with mobile phone features these days? i've got a blackbery which i've had for over a year, in that time i have never once taken a photo with it, never once sent an e-mail on it, indeed never even been on the internet with it, so i've now come to the conclusion that so long as it makes calls and slips into my pocket it really doesnt matter unless you're 14  :y

So the only thing you've ever used your BB for .. is the one thing it's worst at? ;D (Ok, ok, I'll give credit where credit is due - the current work BB I have is alright at making calls.. but the previous two were plain awful!)

You'd have been better off with an older Nokia (like the .. 6310, was it?) - bulletproof and great at making calls.

(I still love my gayPhone, though)

yeah - i know  :o

who the hell can be arsed fiddling around with the internet on a phone tho? or watching telly on it? and ok the cameras may be handy but even a cheap digi gives way better pic quality.

hands up whos actually ever watched a tv programme on a phone? i'll bet its just Tunnie  ;)

I've watched bits of the world cup on mine, sitting in someone's garden.

Well, when I say "I", I mean everyone but me - I couldn't give a flying fig about football.. but everyone else was desperate to know what was going on.

I remain cell-phone free.

I'm still trying to decide whether or not this a good thing.

Is that because you are a technophobe........or have no friends? ;D ;D ;D

For one(and only once) I agree with Banjax. Its completely beyond me why anyone would want to watch TV or browse tinternet with their phone - I wouldnt be able to see it anyway. Its for making a call when your not near a landline connection as far as Im concerned.
Skruntie - you will get at least as many viewpoints as people answering. Its a very personal thing by the look of it (although I am flabbergasted by TB,s statement that people are passionate about their phones) :o...........pick whats best for you.
If you want to use all the latest technology, then according to my gizmo concious daughter, it has to be the Dryphone. :-/

I love my Sony Ericsson that I have with my Vodafone contract, which usually costs me around £26 per month.

However.................go to Carphone Warehouse Phil!  My friend has just started a contract at £30 per month through them, and although I cannot say who the contract is with or what phone she got, she was GIVEN FREE a 32" HD Toshiba flatscreen tv with built in Freeview!  She could have had a 40" version, but they were out of stock and she was not prepared to wait!! ::) ::)

Yes, that is a FREE 32" HD Flatscreen tv!! 8-) 8-) 8-) :y :y :y :y

iPhone every time, jailbroken they are even better!  :-X

I've got cupboard here with about 50 phones, ranging from old Nokia 6210's to Samsung Galaxy, LG's, Sony Ericsson everything.

In terms of reliability, usability, features, iPhone wins hands down.

Its by far the best for Mobile TV streaming too, if you want Sky Sports on your phone, this is a screenshot of the quality offered....

For you maybe, others will have different priorities ;). iPhone, for eg, has poor signal (like all smartphones). Its tied to gayTunes. crApple say what you can and cannot run on it (Jailbroken or not)...

What gay prats want to watch Sky on their phones?  Actually, scrub the phones, who wants to watch Sky's junk?

I have specific requirements which most likely won't match anyone else's.

If you need a phone just as a phone, any basic Nokia will work well.

If you want a Smartphone, you will want a reasonable size touchscreen. Also, for touchscreen, you really want Android, Windows7 or iPhone - the others are all dead in the water. Which you choose will depend on your very specific requirements. For me, that means Win7 or iPhone, Android doesn't work for me.
