Chris, quick Q.. is this the Hitachi saw body you've got?

http://www.screwfix.com/p/hitachi-c18dsl-165mm-li-ion-circular-saw-18v/51719

Though I'm not sure I can justify that kind of price  :o

Yes that's the one.

But I paid £300 for it... With a cordless drill, cordless torch, two batteries, charger and carry bag all as part of the set. From screw fix.... And I bet that's cheaper in the states too. :-/

We really get shafted over here. From every angle.  >:(

Anyway, yes mate that's the one.  :y

Ta :)

Screwfix must have had a deal on when you got your set; either that or it's gone up in price considerably! Which wouldn't surprise me I suppose..

I did notice there seems to be two types of bodies/batteries; 'slide on' and 'clip on', the latter seems to be cheaper (and found in the US too).. Looks good, though, but.. perhaps I'll just get a corded one and save the difference - it'll only get used in the garage anyway :)

It's good, drill and saw took 40 odd square meters of decking in there stride no problem at all. Good gauge and angle plate on it with an led light Drill has had more work, no problem.

But yes the set was a deal, and I've not seen it since tbh.  :-/

Yeah - the cheapest I could find the saw (with 2x battery & charger) was just shy of £300 on it's own..

If I thought I'd make tons of use of it I'd be tempted, but .. I know what I'm like!  ;D

Ah too late then...? You mentioned the hitachi circular saw for £300... Well I received an e mail from ITS with the drill with the same batteries x2 for £80 on offer for a week from the 9th of June....could then just get the circular saw body for £124(did I see?)  :-/

There are several tools that fit the same batteries...
