trouble with this increasingly ludicrous EU is it stokes up those mouth-breathing knuckle draggers in the EDL (or whatever the screaming retard equivalent is in each country) - so we could totally demonstrate against the EU, but the right-wing conspiracy nuts would hijack it and it would be all too easy for DC to pass it off as zenephobic rantings...cut off the EDL and the BNP, tell UKIP to stfu for a second while the adults of Britain discuss this, then you'd maybe get broad agreement across the country that the EU is getting away with murder. as it stands - its far too easy to polarise the debate - get the loonies to keep quiet...i dunno....i'm sure Simon Cowell can think of something.....X-Factor 24/7....that kind of thing
proper debate, proper protest and DC will cave-in like a baked Alaska 8-)
I actually find this a bit disappointing, Banjax.
The truth is that the EU is made up of largely left-wing MEPs. It is also true that each of the three main parties, LibDem, Lab & Conservative (in order of enthusiasm) have Europhile tendencies. Oh, and you can add the SNP to that list, too. Thus, there will be no adult discussion of the EU whilst any of the above are in charge.
Yes, UKIP are a right-of-centre party. For me that is a good thing, but with socialist credentials, I can see that is a problem for you. However, faced with an undemocratic EU, where exactly do you stand? Surely, if you believe in a future democracy here in our land, you should weigh up the options. Knowing your socalist tendencies, you have a hard choice, but I genuinely believe that, if you value democracy, you should support UKIP to remove us from the the tyranny of the EU...you would then be perfectly entitled to lobby for a future left-of-centre administration (since that is your particular preference) to take the UK forward without the EU shackles. At least it would be democratic.
