What actually goes out of this?  :-/

As its got rather warm past few days, I've considered buying a small air-conditioning unit.

Got to keep nice and cool while on that xbox 

Problem is the vent for air-con, you have to open the window, which kind of makes getting one pointless as all cool air escapes, and its nosier when window is open.

But I noticed I have a huge plastic vent going outside from the boiler (combi) - its exhaust vent.

Would it be possible to combine/add a connection to allow air-con vent to be use this as well, would it be safe?  :-/ :-/

There is enough space above it to add something into it.

They are generaly a balanced flue so the outer part has air going in and the inner CO2.

So no, dont mess with it to!

You can make a mini air con yourself just put some ice in front of the fan. I made one from an old pc fan and a plastic tub with the fan on top pulling the cold air through, you can get more complex by using copper piping and a fish tank pump but mine suited my needs

That just gives you cool, damp air.  MostAll air-conditioners extract heat and moisture to the outside world.

If you want to die in the middle of the night this would be a good way to do it.Choose a night when the wind is in a particular direction and it shouldnt take too long.

Seriously though,this is why boiler vents have to be some distance from a window (cant remember how far) but the gas man should be able to tell you.
