Well as above after working as a civilian in the MOD Fire Service for 16 yrs Mr Fox decides to close Leuchars as an airfield meaning im on the dole in 18 months or so  :-/
The hidden story they arnt telling is that 220+ civilians working there have just been tossed on the scrap heap never mind the affect it will have on local buisness etc .
He says that 1200 Raf personel are being replaced by 1300 Army personel when and more likely IF they ever come there but no mention of us civilians .
This its claimed is to save money 
However they have spent Millions and a lot of Millions upgrading Leuchars for the Typhoon so how can it make sense to now throw all that away to have to do the same at Lossiemouth ?
There are a few new buildings just been finished no more than a few weeks ago for various Typhoon related stuff but will now probly never be used ... how on earth does that make sense .
I would imagine when and if the Army ever do come here there will be a massive new building program and altering buildings for there use and again this is all to save money ??
I dont want to metion the stratigic issues on an open forum but anyone can see its pure madness to move the Northern Q aircraft further away from where they may be needed in case of some attack on important places all dotted around the central belt of Scotland ...
Im very p****d of about losing my job but its worse that they are thoughtlesly playing with the security of everyone of us ...
Cameron and co were left a shambles by the pervious Labour fools but they are cutting to deep and too quick ... also just read that 34,000 police are to go in the next few years .... last one out turn the lights off please

The way this government is carrying on we will have no defence left, in terms of Navy and Air Force, with only a part time Army.

The thing is we have as of today had no official contact from anyone about our jobs or anything from anyone ... as far as we are aware if theres no flying there is no need for us .
They have known for at least 9 months that one of the bases was going to close so you would think there would be something in place to tell us our options but there seems nothing in place to tell who ever is affected whats happening .
Our Civilian bosses dont know whats happening and the RAF side well they dont give a toss so there has been nothing from anyone .
We have been in touch with our civilian "bosses " the pay and pension side to ask if theres a team that can come up and tell us our options for early release or redundancey payments etc but they said they have no such team and dont know whats happening anyway as there has ben no contact from MOD etc 
Thats how the MOD look after its people ... the whole thing is a shambles , pissing around with peoples lives like this is a joke.
