On a lighter note - beer
« on: 09 August 2011, 18:32:39 »

With all topics and news concentrating on the scum, I thought I would bring you up to speed on my latest project.

I started a brew of ale for Newent which I plan to share out to those who want it.  It's a nice light ale brewed with fuggle hops.  It was bottled 2 days ago and I had a little taster tonight and even though of is still quite young it is very drinkable.  Once matured for a few weeks it will be lovely.

Just waiting on the admins to decide if I can use the forum name on the label and jobs a good in  :y

I also have a wheat beer brewing as we speak, not sure if it'll be ready in time vt but if it is I will bring some as well.  It was brewed with Orange peel and a mixture of different hops in a bid to emulate hoegarden.

Itlf anyone local has any beer or cidre bottles ill gladly take them off your hands :y

Are Newent Council aware of this proposal - has a risk assessment been carried out - have you checked the licensing laws - you may need security at the event - what about insurance - public liability, what about.... ;D ;D

I was thinking about doing a ginger beer brew for you but it wouldn't be ready in time I'm afraid.

If you need any bottles I've got a shedload. Be happy to drop them round if it would help?

Well I just had my first proper glass of this beer now the sediment has settled (working on that) and I am not sure this batch will make it to Newent :P

It's rather gorgeous, even the teatotal wife said it has a nice flavour.  I may have to get another batch on the go  ::)

Oh and thanks to the admins I will be christening Tue Newent brew as 'OOFers Tonic'  :y
