failed mine on U turn too, but test has changed again, I was one of the last to get through on the old system.
Its now split, you do a test off road in a car park. U turns, S bends and such, which have to be done at 30mph even in wet. Quite a few compaints about that, lot of people fallen off
Emergency stop ect all done off road, you then do the on-road bit afterwards.
DAS course, which is straight to the big bike test (over 500cc) will cost around £500
Straight to the big bike test?
You have the CBT, the bike training. That will allow you up to 125cc with L plates.
But for the test, to ride any power motorbike now, you need to take your test on a 500cc+ (usually a 500cc or 600cc)
Its called the DAS "Direct Access" - These causes often include CBT, so you do that on the Monday, then migrate to big bikes Tuesday, taking your test on the Friday
You can't do lessons, you have to do a (normally) week long course
Ballcocks! That depends on the instructor

I did mine over a few weeks

Although, I suppose that may have changed as
you weren't long out of short trousers it was several years ago when I did mine
