Deactivation
« on: 29 August 2011, 10:52:58 »

Time has come for me to leave this forum.

I no longer own an Omega, and I think, to certain OOF members, non Omega owners shouldnt be here, regardless of how many Omegas they owned in the past.

I sing the praises of our Superb cos we are very happy with it, and see it as a step forward from an Omega.

Seems other people cant handle change........!!

One day, your aging, unreliable and rusting Omegas will need replacing and you will switch to other cars, whether or not you admit it to yourself now.

The Vauxhall Omega was a great car, we had 4 very good years driving them, but their time has come and gone and people are changing marques, live with it.......

Also, this forum has become very very clique of recent and I, like many other members, no longer feel a welcome part of it.

I found certain Admins "Do as I say not as I do" attitude very arrogant and unbecoming, and no longer wish to be active here, especially regarding use of foul language.

And the juvenile behaviour of another admin was nothing short of unbelievable.

Like Lizzie Zoom before me, I wont be back this time, but to be honest, I wont miss the hassle of it all.

Best of luck for resurrecting what was once a great forum, I hope the Admins manage to take stock of its decline, re-evaluate it and do something to improve the atmosphere on here.

I'm sorry that you feel the way you do, M, and I hope the Skoda serves you as well as my Omega serves me. ;)

If you do want to leave, however, it's down to you to press the button.

Exactly, no need for this attention grabbing bull. You don't have to post War & Peace to hit that button  :)

If you can't take the occasional dig for owning a Superb, then well  :-/ :-/

How much was the Skoda? I paid 700 notes for my MV6, and have only had to touch it for routine servicing in the 9 months i have owned it.

From another angle. I have just hit my first problem. Potential gearbox issue. Worst case for me is buy a known good box and fit it myself. All in about £100 inc ATF. What would that cost on the skoda?

Horses for courses.......

Oh here we go, another one, like Lizzie zoom, who can't accept that the universe revolves around the sun, and not one particular individual.

...dont forget, some behavior in the for sale sections, and to some other members in the used car market has been exceptionally poor IMO. And a name change isn't going to hide that on here....  ;)

M,

mondays are bad days to take decisions..

and why not try to talk to admins -if you have a problem- by pm instead of blaming them publicly.. :-/

If that's how you feel, press the button. Always a shame if a member wants to leave but down to each individual member.

Hope the Superb serves you well, just not my cup of tea ;)

Goodbye and good luck :y
