If everybody boycoted Sky, we'd soon have the major sports back on freeview TV, I personaly wouldn't give Sky the time of day or the money.

So who would pay the millions for the rights? Cash strapped BBC? How would clubs get the millions to buy new players? There would be zero money in the sport, unless the club was Russian billionair owned.

Football has not always had people like Sky to sponser it Tunnie.
Football is well over the odds in costs anyway....
Stanley Mathews (have you heard of him) and the like had a full Time job as well as playing football for pence....

That was when football was better. Its a different sport now, the model it is now, the fee's Sky pay for the rights, the BBC could buy them, they choose not to because of cost.

People complain about Sky Go not having certain shows/games on mobiles, again, rights to play TV on a mobile device are huge...

I have always being a Boxing Fan myself. Boxing was on every week at one time, wrestling was on every Saturday morning with "Big Daddy & Giant Haystakes" etc....

Tyson I followed from day one until the fights then went onto Sky. I had sky just to watch the boxing that then charge £5 per fight... it then went up to £10 then £15 :( I then gave up with Sky and watch little boxing anymore...

It is a shame that the Big Boys take over with everything... :(

Sky don't set the prices for Boxing, the match does, they ask what they want each person to pay.

Recently, can't remember who wanted £15 for each viewer, Sky did not get enough interest in it, was not worthing broadcasting, so dumped it!

I don't like having one disk on my house, though, Martin - let alone two :) (Or, I suppose, a motorised dish..)

Thinking of a 1.2 with 4 LNBs on, or a 80 with 2, can't get 2 on my 65

Why should football have millions of pounds?

Why is low level football in dire straights?

The bubble will burst

'We are freezing prices for a year' can be roughly translated as 'in a year we will be doubling our prices'

As you say, how stupid do they think we are?

I think if Tesco froze price of every product for a year, you'd be happy  ;)
Maybe I'm just too cynical these days but the way they make the advert sound, as if they're doing you the biggest favour in the world by not putting prices up for a year, when you know that after that, you're going to get clobbered with a big rise after that, and you know that they make huge profits every year regardless, gets my goat.

Yes, there are services that we could use instead of sky, but there are some good channels on there that you don't find anywhere else, just have having to pay for it :(

Sky is precisely the reason why popular sports such as the Premier League are going down the crapper ;)

What a load of utter bilge!

Sky may be poor in what ever regard (re customer service it's way above average ime) but as all things are relative it is class leading in every single respect. From customer service to technology advancements to number of HD channels, to number of channels generally... And yes it's class leading in how much they charge as well. Either buy it or don't.

Given the choice between free view and sky... Or virgin for that matter. These make sky look awesome by comparison, however crap sky might be! The alternative to sky is... As that bloke on QI would say... Loose stool water of the highest order!

Live with it.  :)

Thats sums it up :y

If you don't like it, cancel and walk away.  If you think you do get value for money (or at least use it enough to warrant it), keep it/buy it.  And Tunnie has kindly offered those with 50 posts or more half price for first year :y

Its no secret I'm not a fan, and was once a Sky customer.  For me, I like films.  I can buy 3 or 4 films a month for the same as a Sky sub. Or go to flicks 2 or 3 times with Mrs TB.

Whatever works for the individual :y

Tunnie Is displaying the OOF spirit IMO. He is in a position to help others, and is doing so where he can.

Good work T. ... And actually, Good work sky. A successful British company.  :y

I'll leave it there for now.  :)

So your getting the channels you want at the same price as last year, when everything else, Petrol, Food, Clothes are all going up in price?

Sky customers get on the move access, get your TV via phone (android coming soon) PC/Mac & iPad at no extra cost. You get Anytime+ a router which plugs into Sky's vast online stock of movies. Again, new service no extra cost, Sky Atlantic its basically a whole new channel bought of HBO. Again that cost nothing extra....

What do you want? The world on a stick?

Can't please some people :(

Damned if they do, Damned if they don't

No need to take it personally mate, I know you work for Sky - it's not a rant that you need to respond to, I'm just letting off steam. Actually I get my Sky for half price, and I enjoy it, just wish I didn't have to pay for it at all  :)

Just find that particular advert very irritating

Sorry if it came across wrong, no offence intended. Sadly Sky are in the situation of being damned no matter what they do. As a company to work for and be a customer they are one of the better ones out there
