I think I'm all ready for the big event!!

I've got all the parts I need. However I've just been reading a post that says its essential t do an oil/filter change if you're doing the cam cover gaskets and cleaning the breathing system, because of all the carb cleaner!!

Is this the case? I hadn't planned on doing an oil/filter change so I don't have the parts, and I'm not gonna have chance to get them now before Saturday!  :-/

Thanks to TB, LD, Jim and Chris for your replies!  Sounds like between you guys, you have thought of everything!

I shall bring all the parts that I've got, and hopefully if I've missed anything, the gaps can be filled!

LD, I'll definately take you up on your offer of sitting on my shoulder and talking me through things if you don't mind? That is if it doesn't effect your cheffing duties...  :y

Yep... No problem :y I'll be having a wander around anyway ;)

I will be bringing a couple of spare fuel filters and a handful of oil/air filters anyway, if anyone is short. And some oil. Current TC prices apply - sorry, I'm not a charity  :-[

I aimed to pick up a load of carb cleaner, but Bletchley Halfords is staffed by Bletchley residents, and thus stocking anything useful is too complicated for them. I have 4 or 5 cans though, so if anyone is short on the day, I *may* have some I'm not using - though if people get through whole cans of the stuff, a contribution would be appreciated ;)

The Wyns stuff as around £5.50 retail, comes in around £3 on halfords trade.

I'd say 1 or 2 cans might not be enough if they are bad...

Hey Joff!  Looking forward to get getting some 'twins' shots of our cars at the weekend! I know it sounds sad but I don't care!!  :y

Nearly set for Saturday.  :y

A bit sore after picking the bits up :o. , but do have all the bits for the day. I'll just be working on the oily bits, though. Cruise can wait. Will bring some carb cleaner and a load of blue rolls and bin bags.

Will also pick up 6 pints of milk on the way over. :y

They won't be genuine Vx but I might have to pop and get some today because I've got a couple out as well... I've got to remove my stereo for the Tech2 to communicate so may as well change them at the same time ::)
