Can anyone help mg zr

On idle it is all over the place and when reved it doesnt come down as quick as it should. Also some times it will rev up to 3k on idle and back down and some times cuts out. Any ideas????

Agree :y take a can of carb cleaner and spray a small amount on each area, the revs will rise with the alcahol in the spray. You'll soon find it :y

I think all the 1.8's are K series engines mate.

i would deffo say K series, would get somebody to do the sniffer test on the coolant system (any reasonale garage with a head gasket leak detecting kit) can do this for you, if not headgasket i will be suprised indeed, and as said poss air leak

well i have passed on all the info and im heading back down there tomorrow im just glad its not my motor. But theengine does look a lot simpler to get at

easiest way to tell if it is a K series the engine number will tell you should be on the log book
