That's how I interpreted it too but they say they do training courses (on your own vehicle) and issue a certificate at the end :-/ :-/

A certificate for your vehicle or a certificate to say you can certify others?  :-/

TBH, the LPGA sound like the type of "jobs for the boys" outfit where as long as they get their couple of hundred quid a year for you to be "registered" (not "certified" or necessarily even "competent"!) they will see no evil.

If you charged a sensible rate to certify installs you'd have enough business on OOF to pay for the ticket for a year or two, I'd say.

Kevin

Just re-read it and it's and Autogas Solutions certificate to say you can install and fault find on the Stag Kit... Nothing to do with the LPGA and probably worthless in the real world as it's just a bit of paper saying what I already know ::) ::)

Oh... And the certifying thing was exactly what I had in mind :y :y :y

Teilo and I have had a few discussions about me becoming a fitting centre up here for him, but I just don't know if I want to get into it or not :-/ :-/

Well, in reality, ALL bits of paper are worthless. The question is whether they would satisfy an insurance company, as that's their only potential value, IMHO. At least there'll be a paper trail back to the importer of the kit.

.. and I'm sure I've heard of Autogas Solutions before....

Me too.... And the fact it's sticking in my mind makes me wander why. I don't think it was a complimentary review for some reason :-X :-X

.. and that ECU is nice and compact.  :y

I see there is a new version of the Stag 300 ECU out, as well - and a "UK distributor" http://www.autogassolutions.co.uk/stag-lpg-kit/new-stag-300-plus.

I must say, the 3D map sounds like a good move. I wonder if it's just a firmware update? ::)

Kevin

Thought it was smaller than the V6 one, added to that the I4 engine, i have plenty of room!  8-)

Thinking under the airbox for the ECU, as its sheltered there from most conditions, don't like the idea of it in the scuttle.

Only part i am thinking of now is the Vaporiser, and where that goes. I was thinking under the coolant bottle on the drivers wing, looks like there is plenty of space, it does not get in the way of cambelt changes or anything else really:

Inside driver's wing is the usual vapouriser location. Do you have an aux. coolant pump (cold weather pack) there or is it clear? I ditched the coolant pump.

You can bring the LPG line in through and existing grommeted hole down there.
When mounting the ECU, connector should face downwards to prevent water ingress.

I fitted mine up where the self-levelling pump would be.

Nope, but i do have driver involvement pack  ;D

Space should be fine there, good point on the connector, never thought to face it downwards

Just had a call from Telio, top bloke, had a good chat about the install.

Turns out the £175 ones on eBay was him! Bugger it, screwed me self of £40 there, ahh well.

He knew exactly the kit i bought, so i just said i need everything that does not come with that, connectors, pipework, and tank.

Bargin price on the fuel tank, £150  :o

He's going to get it all sorted tomorrow for me  :)

That is, indeed, a good price. What size tank is that? Dealing with him makes sense. If there's anything else you need you can be sure he'll lob it straight in the post.

80L standard tank, with 1 valve, he said as long as your not over 200 bhp no sense in the 4 hole, plus most pumps can't dish out the LPG fast enough to take full effect.

He also mentioned my vaporizer, he said they were a bit weak on power (160bhp) but very reliable  :)

Fair comment. There is one pump where my car fills up incredibly quick (65 litres in easily less time it takes for 65 litres of petrol). The cheapest one is sh1t slow, though. Takes about 10 minutes to fill up. End up with a numb arm from holding the button down. ::)

He is a top bloke... Well worth being patient for and I'd guess, judging by that price, he's still going to be giving us a good deal  :y :y :y
