just worked out my mpg and it comes out at average 29.thats 65 litres with at least 420miles between fill ups.is this a descent return or have i got my maths all wrong?

Found this site the other day when I wanted to work out my wifes Audis MPG (it came out at 64mpg by the way, 93 Audi 80 TDi)

I was just outside Saffron Walden on Tuesday, Little Walden, at a converted farm that supplies the big pictures prints to Ikea and the like. Beautiful part of the world, cr@p phone reception though

we found that with our 2.2

Youve still got to accelerate a bloody great car up to speed, requires about the same amount of energy whatever engine is in it.

V6 driven slow to normal is the same economy as a 4 pot in our experience, as you tend to be a lot more heavy footed in the smaller engine.

however when you drive the V6 with a heavy foot, that economy drops right down.

I have driven very carefully in the 2.2 while I've owned it. But recently I have started to drive it with a bit more aggression, heavier right foot
Result, well I expected less MPG but no it's about the same............a paltry 23mpg, this is just on short journeys :-?

Not brilliant, but its reliable, smooth, comfy, costs sod all to run, so its staying!
