The fourth line down, about how it's still in use and can be driven away  ;D
What planet is he on, that he thinks that is acceptable to drive on a public road?

Sorry Herc but wrong mate

Any vehicle on the road has to conform to MOT standards, and a car wouldnt pass an MOT with a headlight missing......

I'm afraid you're wrong there... If the vehicle is presented as daylight use only (can't remember what evidence needs supplying :-/) then it can have no headlights at all :o :o But... The MOT  is endorsed as daylight and good visibility use only :y :y

Also they have to provide favourable surfaces upon which a pedestrian could suffer an impact. So no jagged bits sticking out. This would not live up to that I'm sure...

To do: Replace brake discs and pads; adjust already replaced shoes; check for leaks in oil cooler, cambelt area, crank seals, sump, dipstick; replace osf door; replace a tyre; clean, MOT.

As far as i know if a car is legally pre-booked in at a garage for an MOT it can be driven straight to the said garage with an expired certificate, if stopped by Police they could ring the garage to confirm the booking..

in the case of the headlight damage could the car be driven to a garage under the same conditions, i.e. pre-booked for repair?  :-/

With a clout like that or should I say in his words slight wing and bumper damage, Lol. I would say that the cooler is fuba.
If that is slight damage then I would not like to know what he thinks is a right off.

I know a "daylight MOT" exists for some bikes without lights but rarely used.
Even if it was legal to drive that car with no headlamp it still has no working indicator @ said corner hence illegal.
