MOT Time Today
« on: 20 April 2010, 06:54:50 »

Well, after a not inconsiderable lay up whilst I scraped together the funds and the courage to tackle the head gasket, my tractor is finally going for its MOT at 3:00 today.

Gave it a good clean sunday only for it to be covered in ash this morning and hoovered it out last night and fitted a new set of mats which I got as a christmas pressy as being an ex mechanic I know they tend to fail cars more readily if they appear not looked after.

Have already replaced the front and rear pads, track rod end and both rear tyres but I still think its going to fail on something.

So please, fellow OOFers, at 3:00 today please cross everything that can be crossed!!!

everything will be crossed, except the uk in an aeroplane!

should be ok mate, last 6 i put in next door have gone more or less straight thru,
even a rattley old rover i put it, went straight thru on friday!
Long as its mechanicaly sound, not noisey or leaking, and you havent got wire hanging out your tires, you should be fine!

Sorry for the delay, had a proper hectic day at work and didnt finish till 7:45.

Well, anyone want any spares off a tractor Elite  :-[ :-[

Only joking ;D It's only gone straight through :y :y :y Couple of advisories, one front tyre worn on inner edge and something else that escapes me right now.

Its still at the garage as they ran out of time to sort the tracking and I want that done before I get it back, tbh I probably wont be taxing it for over a week so I can get a full month so its not a problem, but I am seriously happy as a pig in poo at the moment!!!!!!!

Thanks to everyone on here who helps keep these old buses on the road, your help is invaluable!!!!!

TBH I think they were clutching at straws, I checked all 4 tyres (replaced 2) and the fronts were fine. Just had a look on motinfo.gov and the other advisory was pitted front discs, not a surprise as i doubt its done much more than 20 miles since January.

I know I said I wasn't going to tax it till the end of the month but I really dont want to wait any more so that will be getting done tomorrow and i think i'll be taking it out for a nice long drive in the evening.

It now has a badgeless mesh grill (thanks Angie) and I think it looks brilliant now, just would love to get the rubber spoiler which goes round the bottom of the front bumper but cant find anyone thats got one :(
