Project Estate - Progress
« on: 28 June 2007, 07:44:49 »

Progress on the project Estate is as follows:

1) Replace leaking sump plug and oil filter. Has much reduced (but not cured) the oil loss.

2) Replace oil pressure switch (this has helped)

3) Remove plenum and inlet - check valley. No leaks. Check Oil cooler to block unions - no leaks.

4) Check cam-covers - no leaks.

5) Strip down, remove cambelt, remove toothed crank sprocket (breaking it in the process), and remove crankshaft oil seal. Looks like there's been a leak in this area.

Next job is to install the new seal, and put it all back together.
Only other job on top of that, is a new door, and it'll be singing and dancing.

Then I need to find the V5 for my Elite and sell it.... and get my old CDX taken to the scrappy... hopefully to make room for TD's 51 plate Veccy, that we may have struck a deal with...

Oh, and now it's running on Vx 10w/40, instead of used 20w/50 - the lifters have stopped making a noise ;D  ::)

I must add... I have put 3 OOF stickers on here - one in the back window, and one on each of the rear side windows. Looks really smart, not in your face, but tasteful.
