Bit of an odd question really.

Depends what you want from a car, only clue you give is in a hint that you want to run a disco of chip juice.

You had 5 of them in the past, you mention nothing of family size or wanting to off road.

Do you do a lot of mileage.

Only you can make your mind up, we cant do that for you, allthough we could help if it was a couple of migs.

pot holes is my main problem, not that I aim for them lol.

better visibility in a land rover plus a bit of intimidate'ability lol.

running costs on the omega, around town its only doing 15 - 20mpg, 3.0 mv6. Disco would be far cheaper on chip juice lol.

I know there not as quick but I only do 60 on the motorway in the omega on cruise, 38mpg :)

and if I do come to selling you lot will have the first shout... here is just the service history etc,,,

Here is a fantastic example of the RARE 3.0 MV6 Auto Omega, with full service history and paperwork.

Omega offers assured handling, good power units and spacious, comfortable interiors. Engines are the efficient Ecotec units. A better proposition than elderly executives like Scorpio and Rover 800 and it's almost an affordable alternative to the old BMW 5-Series. It's just a pity that it's not visually more attractive. However, if you're looking for a great car and you don't care what anyone else thinks then this could be just what you're looking for. No-one will dislike your car, they simply won't notice it. If you need more proof of its credibility as a driving machine, traffic police loved Omega. ‘Parkers’

Bad bits...
Slight ding in the bonnet, offside mirror doesn’t fold in.
So I was asking around £1750 If I was to sell it.

I can quite safely say that no off road style 4x4 has ever intimidated me. In fact I go out of my way to intimidate chelsea tractors. I no 2 guys who use theres off road properly and I have no problem with that. But to use one on the road is plainly selfish. They are slow, especially in the twisty bits. What do we all get stuck behind in the country lanes ?, yep some sod in shogun that has never ever even been on a grass verge.
Plus you may become a target for the green brigade  ;D

You have what YOU like. How long is the cooking oil going to last though ::)
I ran my old Rover on cooking oil for years & it saved me a fortune :) The Omega doesn't do it though :(

In what way :-? We have a Disco diesel V6 for work, because it's the only vehicle that can tow our 5B's.
Ok, they don't handle to good in the twists, but as for ride, comfort & power, it's excellent :)

Omegas are crap on muddy tracks.

Disco 3's wont run properly on chip fat not designed to,older derv burners are more likely to run on it

and a series 111 stage 1 v8 can rip along at an alarming rate .

disco 3's arent proper 4x4 just funky niche  cars??????

I presume we're talking Disco 2, like the one in the photograph.

I already have both several Omegas and a Disco - the general concensus is right, it's horses for courses.

the Disco is great for generally woofling about the place and towing stuff. It's actually quite fast, but that's not the point. Its easily fixable when it goes wrong, mind you Omegas are as well. And of course you can drive up the side of a building in it.

Regarding the Omegas, I have five, so it's a bit difficult to choose a typical one. But generally, they're proper grown-up saloon cars, the thinking-man's BMW. Quiet, refined, reasonably economical - all of which the Disco ain't.

so its up to you to think why you'd want a vehicle and select the best for your needs.

I would definitely say that the Omegas are all much, much better over potholes than the Disco - and we live on a farm in rural Northumberland.

if you're a farmer, get the Disco, if you're not, keep the Omega

Simple as that........

 :y
I'm no farmer, but I'd have a Disco 3 over an Omega any day!
Brought up on Vauxhalls, but I know a bloody good car when I've driven one.
Driven a few Disco 3's and love them. I just can't quite afford one yet, but it will be my next car...........

But it wasnt a disco 3 in the question mate, that picture is a Disco 2 which is a totally different proposition..........!!

if you had the cash for a Disco 3, then you could have both the Disco 2 and the Omega
