Jack oil

Sealey recommend a certain oil, and any other oil invalidates the warranty, does it really matter what oil is used? Mine seems to be a bit low, full stroke only lifts the saddle through half it's movement. Pumping to bleed air helps, but problem returns, it now squeaks as if it's sucking air bubbles. :(

Still a million times better than Daz's jack though....thought I'd get that in before he pipes up ;D

We've always used the jack oil from the big H.. ANd seems to do the job with no problems!!!

Sealey HJO from memory which is actualy not that pricey.

Question is.....where has it gone and can you see a leak.

My jack will leak if the "release" valve is not screwed back in, and the jack ends up on its side, which it is bound to do given the design of the case !! Do the valve up and no problems at all.

Don't know if yours is the same problem ??

yep, know what you mean.

I think its just been under filled from the factory. Or there is something a miss.

I have some cheapo hydrolic fluid, just not sure if it matters which fluid is used? or are sealey just trying to flog more of thier own oil?

It wouldn't really matter what Hydraulic oil you put in a jack.
I dought Sealey will be doing a chemical test to see what oil you've in it.

A pop bottle of hyraulic oil filled from work's oil stores has been great in my 30 year old trolly jack after its over haul.  :y :y

I hate hydraulic oil, it gets everywhere.

Was covered in the stuff last night and will be again every week for a few more weeks.

Still, it means I have access to 200+ litres of fresh ISO46 ydraulic oil if I need any !

Ah, is yours a hair trigger Clarke one as well ;D

They are OK once you're used to them, although DTM's is definately more 'anxious' than mine when it comes to lowering the car ;D

 ;D Friend of mine has one of those.. after the first time using it I'm always verrry careful lowering cars off jacks, now!

Don't think he liked the way the car bounced off his garage floor..
